I hate it when techs do this. If I cannot be as close to 100% sure about the sex of the baby, I keep my mouth shut and say I am not sure. Aside from the position of the baby, at times the mother's body size hinders finding out the sex. Sometimes, the baby's sex is ambiguous. Sometimes parents are not thrilled with this practice of saying I don't know, but I would rather do that than be wrong. 70%??? That is crazy!

Smart Doctor not to make any 100% predictions...the reason why some doctors won't say 100% if its a girl is because sometimes they turn out to be late blooming little boys. Meaning that the fetus's testes haven't or may not drop (hang down) low enough to distinguish a boy from a girl.

And thus far my little one has stayed a little girl as well. We should know here in the next couple of weeks if the predictions were correct.

There is always a chance they are wrong thats why he only gave you 70% but he did say girl so right now thats what I would expect. I am so happy for you.

I go for my 22 week ultra sound today at 2:30 and I can't wait to find out what sex mine is. (that is if my baby isn't shy)

Congrats and good luck!

At five and a half weeks, he should have been able to tell what you were having unless the baby wasn't positioned in a way that you could see the genitals. You can have another one done on your next visit to see if they are visible then. Ultrasounds aren't harmful to the baby so if you have another one, it shouldn't matter. The only thing is that a lot of insurance companies won't pay for but only one.

a myth is that if the baby has big feet then its a boy but yeah with 70% it is likely that your having a girl thought they can say they are 100% sure of the sex and when you deliver it's completely wrong... good luck

There is a chance he is wrong. When my little sister was born, they told us that she was a boy with no hair all the way up until the day she was born. and she came out a girl with lots of hair.So yes i believe there is a chance that he is wrong.

Yes, there is a good chance (about 30%) that it will be a boy.

You'll know for sure in about 4 months.

i would expect a girl especially since you were 22 weeks when they did it, everything should have been devoloped properly and pretty easy to tell. they told me my son was a boy at 16 weeks and were right. they told me at 18.5 weeks with the baby i'm carrying now, is a girl, i hope they're right again. good luck to you!!!

well there's a 30% chance he's wrong according to his own admission.

They're more likely to be wrong when guessing a girl then a boy.

They know..... sometimes they try to play guessing to keep it interesting But yes their are some baby that you think they are something and at the last moment they change. Plus girls always hide themselves and you usually find out at the last moment.... Check the chinesse calendar, that should work!!!
