Radio 1 has always played certain tracks to death, and combine that with DJs recycling material from years ago to get the reason I haven't listened for years. With music on demand and the internet who needs Radio 1 ?

Yeah they do a bit. Sick of Grace Kelly and Raoul by the Automatic, but they are a hell of a lot better than Virgin (The Feeling at least once an hour) or commercial stations that play hours of adverts and pants like Dido and Michael Bolton all damn day. It's the best of a bad bunch and the reason the ipod is such an essential these days....

Sorry have no clue who Radio 1 is and what country that is in, but I can relate to your problem. I know that the station KFM, here in South Africa also get accused of this. I think may stations does. They keep playing all that international pop songs over and over! Where are the really talented local bands???!!!

YES I DO!!!! I love radio 1 the DJs make me laugh (esp scott mills and chris moyles) but I'M SICK TO THE BACK TEETH OF ERIC PRYDZ!!!!!
And what really annoys me is that Radio 1 have one of the biggest playlists for a radio station in the world, and they really do pull some classic gems out occasionally.

definitely. when i was clearing out an office a few months back we could only find radio 1 on the radio. they stick to ten songs and that is it. in the end you end up knowing the songs you hate as well as those you like, they play them so much

Absolutely! I was going to put up the same question! the music is total crap! Sack the head of playlists! Even Moyles says that some songs get played to death. Full of morbid rubbish, GET WITH IT R1! I dont get some of it, DJs champion songs that i just dont get. i.e. coldplay, radiohead etc.

Power FM is much worse for overplaying tracks. I heard "Mr Bright Side" by the Killers three times...yes three...in one hour.

yes, its a shame they have such set play lists that repeat the same things every show of the day, every day of the week. The evening shows are better, where they have a more eclectic mix
