With no real offense, and certainly without much thought, I guess I'd have to say THE CHURCH. While that might sound irreverent (Which I occasionally do) Unless the specific church has a meeting/activity/child care/banquet room, you might inquire as to an availability space, with the proper clergy.

While they may not want an Altar defiled, it may be that the church, it's leaders, and congregation are open minded enough to allow that the greatest audience (head count wise) has seating already in place (PEWS)

Certainly in religiously themed "Plays" the area in front of the congregation is often used. I suspect that with respect, and some "character" in your "SHOW" the first place to attend to this is with the Pastor/Minister/Priest/ etc.

If the church is near a christian school (i.e., St. Isadore's Catholic church, St. Isadore's catholic elemantary/middle School) then I would suggest holding it in the school gym. There is usually a stage in most gyms, and everyone who attends the church would know exactly where to go.
