that he would not allow me to continue to wear my (very small) nose stud. I'm a lunch hostess at a bar, dress and groom well everyday, and do a good job (as far as hostesing goes) The nose has been there for 10 years and I don't want to give it up. If I get the removable kind, my piercer told me it would increase the scarring later on by a lot. I work 15 hours a week (desperate housewife job), so is it worth it? If I walked away, i would feel like a self absorbed butt face, but it's kind of important to me to keep the nose. Advice please?

Have you sat down with your boss and explained all of this to him? You did an excellent job of expressing yourself and your concerns in your question. Perhaps if you tell him what you told us, and emphasize the medical concern of the scaring issue your mentioned, he will loosen up and allow you to continue to wear the stud. Good luck.

That is far from a stupid question. There's thousands of bars, restaurants, clubs what nots out there where you can work. To hell with this anal guy and his bar. I bartend and I get the same flack when my sleeve rolls up a little exposing the bottom of my tattoo. Who cares? I'd find another place to work. 15 hours a week isn't worth giving up something you love about yourself.

Chances are your going to lose that job anyway. New bosses that start out like that want to clean house and get their own staff. I know this from being on both sides of the fence. Best thing to do is see how the jobs are to fit your needs and move on before he finds something else.

What are the chances of finding a tiny stud that's flesh colored? That way he can't say much about it, it'd be hard to notice, and would probably look better than the hole in your nose... Check the internet and see if you could find one...
Just a thought...

i am going to ought to respectfully disagree with Love. i imagine that you'll tell how someone extremely is on the interior through what they write on the internet (in the experience that they don't seem mendacity that you may also do in actual existence). interior the protection of your own residence you may want to be the fellow you extremely are and say the belongings you extremely pick to assert. interior the pro international human beings ought to censor themselves on the prospect of being fired/punished as a fashion to't extremely convey their inner self (in maximum circumstances). on condition that you're on the point of someone are you able to extremely comprehend who they're and how they positioned across because their Ascendant might want to possibly be the wall. i imagine there are extra variables in human being than there are over the internet. on the internet i trust you may extra truly make certain the Mercury signal if you're no longer interpreting everyone's words in Morgan Freeman's voice (I attempt this each and every from time to time for relaxing). in my opinion, i trust in case you weigh in each and each and every of the factors from both side i'd say the internet may take the cake in this one. i have given myself extremely the headache questioning all of this. i do not imagine you may want to make certain a persons'' sunlight and Ascendant although.

Tell your boss what you have just told us. but whatever happens don't get angry with him while you do. (wait for his response)
as long as he is a reasonable person he should try to find a compromise.
You could offer to tape it up or cover it with a small skin colored plaster.
piercings are always a difficult issue when working with the public. good luck

get a small square of sticky plaster bandage stuff (i know what i'm talking about but don't know how to describe it, sorry) and just pretend you have a cut or some such on your nose. customers will never know the difference and it should (note: don't quote me here) keep your boss happy

If you want this job then you should follow their rules or leave and get a job where they will allow you to wear peircings.

Can you just put a band aid over it? Or look for another job where they are more reasonable?
