There is no simple answer to this question.

There is no real way to handle having your heart broken. No words can ever make your pain go away.

Each day that passes by the pain eases slightly, until your once true love becomes nothing but an empty memory.

It is very important to know that you are never truly alone. You need to remember this each and ever day. Even if you are standing in a crowded room, and still feeling alone...you arent.

Although it feels like your heart has been shattered into a million pieces and seems likes it will never feel whole again, it will.

This is very cliche, but time really is the only thing to ease your pain.

You need to try and remember, no matter how hard it is..that everything happens for a reason even when you cant see that reason now, you will be able to some day...and you should look towards the future not the past.

Set a goal for yourself, and move towards it--just dont bury your feelings on that journey...hearts are fragile and can only hold so much...if you hold too much in it will shatter and you will be right back where you started from.

Keep your eyes forward, not behind and always keep your head high--but know that you're allowed to cry, you are only human.

Time, time and more time. Allow yourself time to grieve. Try to picture your loved one in a ridiculous outfit walking down the main street. Don't contact the person who broke your heart. If you can be near nature and collect your thoughts and look at the blue sky or the rain or whatever forces of nature are in your reach, that helps a lot. I once got over a broken heart by taking a weekend in winter by the ocean. Eat good food, try not to take liquor.... just renew yourself.
Everything happens for a reason.

Give it time - that is the only cure. Or perhaps a bottle of red wine to drown your sorrows. Unfortunately - you have to sober up sometime.
