They will decide soon to induce or C-section to get the baby out and observe why the growth stopped.

They may decide just to section you now if the baby still hasnt grown. This may sound scary but at 31 weeks your baby has a pretty good chance of survival. He/she may need help with breathing at first and will spent the next few weeks in hospital but is developed enough to be able to survive with some help. I work on a Neonatal Unit and have seen lots of babies grow into normal healthy babies that were born as early as 28 weeks. Of course there are no guarantees, babies take 9 months to grow for a reason but theses days its not such a worry. You will be given steroids to aid your babies lungs before C section. I wish you and baby the best of luck x

I am not an expert but, I heard if the baby is not growing, they will have to schedule you pretty soon for a C-section. Did they told you that? Or they will have to put you in a diet to see if there is any change. Are you one of this person that doesn't see a period regularly? maybe you are far from what they think. How much weight did you gain since the beginning? Ask all the questions that you may have to your midwife... Good luck

My son stopped growing at 28 weeks and really i don't know what was wrong, he had low fluid. I got induced a week early and my son was a very healthy 5 lbs. Very little but we got to take him home immediately. Hang in there its a scary thing to hear i know. But my question is are they doing sonograms?? Because as soon as my Dr. found out my measurements were not increasing they did an immediate ultrasound. And monitored me every week with an ultra sound then it turned into every three days. If it is low fluid that could be fatal to your baby so question your doctor, but other than that I hope you have a safe and healthy delivery.

To be honest with you the best person to talk to is the midwife as without looking at the scans or monitoring the child it is hard to say what will happen. The only reason that a C section would be conducted early is if the baby or yourself is in too much destress or there is a problm with the baby. If you are worried I would contact your midwife and talk to her/him as that is what they are there for to offer you advice and support. all the best x

First they will probably inject you for a few days with steroids
to help the baby's lungs mature.
Then they will wait for a few weeks as it might just be a pause in the baby growing if nothing they will then determine what to do.
Hunnie don't worry they may not have to do a c section they might just start you off for a natural delivery.
Fingers crossed for you
good luck

I am so sorry you are going thru this. My heart goes out to you and your little baby. I would fully discuss this with your midwife. You shouldnt have any questions unanswered. It will make you feel so much better when you know exactly what is happening and what is next. Call your midwife and get all your questions resolved.

i wouldnt worry too much now, the doctors and your midwife know what is going on and they are going to do everything they can to help, you just need to stay calm and listen to what they say, dont stress yourself out, that is the last thing you need. i am sure everything is fine, if they decide to they may induce or do a c section, either way they are going to take care of you and your baby promise.
good luck.

my little boy stopped growing at 34 weeks and i went full term near enough (he was born 17th dec 04, was due 18th dec 04) they booked me in induction on my due date. i was so frightend, my little boy weighed 5lb 13oz at birth, and thats bigger than what they expected, the expected no more than 4lb 5oz
they might do what they did with me, kept going back for scans to check if my baby was okay and things.
my little baby is now a healthy 2 year old, he weighs 30lbs and is 93cm tall, he has thrived since he was born! :) Please try not to worry too much as hard as it is, if you need any guidance speak to your midwife! they are there to help you!
I wish you the best of luck!
