So far, the scientist are saying global warming is "likely" caused by humans. This does not sound very definitive to me. Until there is definitive proof, I don't see a need to get everyone's undies in a bunch over this.
There have been countless "scientific" studies in the past that everyone jumped on the bandwagon and promoted as the only thing that can save the human race, or save the planet, or whatever. These have all turned out to be pseudoscience. There are already a small handful of scientists that are saying the planet will only have a few more years or warming, then it will cool off and come to another mini-ice age, just as it did at the second half of the 17th century.

In the sixties they said we would be in an ice age by 2030
Now they expect us to believe the opposite. How can we believe global warming when Arizona has been 45 degrees
and Hawaii was 54 yesterday. Where is the hot weather if we are going toward global warming?
Oh and the picture of the mom and baby bear on the little chunk of ice was to more to be a scare tactic than anything

We can pressure politicians to put more money into renewable energy research and encourage the free market to improve energy usage.
China and India are where we should be focused. The US contribution to greenhouse gasses will be small compared to theirs in the next few years. And coal is fueling their development.
Quick action may not be as helpful as smart action. It is too late to fix anything- we needed to start 100 years ago.
In my opinion there is a lot of panic about this topic and too little rational thought. If environmental activists keep up the spin too intensely they risk a backlash of immense proportions- now is the time to proceed carefully. The last thing the earth needs is millions of people buying SUV's and wasting energy just to annoy environmentalists.

So who was responsible for the climate changes when the dinosaurs lived on a tropical planet? or the ice age before that?
Liberals are so desperate that they see a natural cycle occurring and they blame the president.

youre asking exactly the question the state wants you to ask.
By showing your concern you are giving support to further oppressive measures and taxation.
Climate change has been clearly demonstrated to be a natural phenomenon with human contribution nominal.
Its a Blair and Brown con trick .

"Act now" means some people dictating to other people how to live their lives.
I don't see how we can consider this a free society if we do that without solid evidence that what they're doing causes the harm in question.
And there IS no such evidence.

I DO care. This generation may get away without too much damage but what about the young children of today? I think it's selfish to just carry on burning up the planet. I mean, if we can't be trusted to care for the planet that provides us with life.....what can we be trusted with?
We need to act NOW!

How about, 'let's all take responsibility and do something'? Yes, politicians have to get involved to legislate changes for large perpetrators, but we can all do something to help. Afterall, its OUR planet...not just the politicians.
