How can I clean the outer panel of a Motorola PEBL. It has got ink smudges and other stains....pls help!?

I have tried a lot of things to clean the cover but nothing works..can anyone suggest how do I remove the stains from the outer panel...panel is light blue in color??

Goo Gone -- small bottle, you will find in the cleaning section of the store
Or the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, also in the cleaning section of the store.

Someone once told me to use alcohol pads to clean the outsides of cell phones. I can't guarantee it will work but it's worth a try.
