kids should sing the national anthem and the pledge of allegiance every morning (the originals) because although we are surrounded by this politically correct bull sh.t we need to remember our origins. It is not a way to force religion upon people, but to remember how we came to be and to instill a stronger sense of patriotism for our country.

Listen I am firm believer that taking religion away from our society is what is causing the violence today!!! We have had religion for as long as I can remember in our schools, businesses, courthouses, etc. and now that it is going out of our everyday life, people are turning to more violence and just down right cold hearted people! They should sing the national anthem to carry on pride for our country, carry on history, to remember our history, to have some standards for themselves, what about for morals, to remind them we are free, for freedom, why shouldn't we support our country, to support our troops, so that they don't die in vein.

i would love to see this... or repeating the national anthem (the original version, without the God statement...) is good for kids to understand their country, have a certain degree of patriotism, while still understanding that no country is perfect and to have a real grasp on all aspects of their history...
