The human being can't live in misery so he tries to create a joyful atmosphere by being positive.
WE have to remind ourselves that we have been created to live happy, to enjoy life and to go on living happily ever after/
Staying positive also helps us overcome problems .

I remind myself daily to put the emphasis on the positive... it is part of the way I do my job and live my life. I am a teacher - if I concentrated on the negatives of my work environment (instead of finding creative, positive solutions) I would not be doing my job very effectively (or well)!

Good things can be found in the midst of mistakes, struggle, and strife. Great learning can come from there. If I only concentrated on the reasons these things are difficult, I wouldn't be much of a learner.

I do have to remind myself especially at work. I am a nurse at a hospital and it is very stressful dealing with patients and their families. If I would be the slightest negitive about anything or with my attitude it spreads like wildfire throughout the staff and makes for even a worse day. And that also cuts down on quality care. The world isn't gonna change if I choose to stay positive, but my day will go better and hopefully my coworkers day and even the patients i take care of will as well.

For the majority of the time: NO. I am an upbeat person who enjoys so much about life. However, there are times, now and then, when I see so much sorrow and anger in the world that I have to remind myself that this is just a small portion of life. I remind myself that I am such a lucky person, I have a great family, and live the life I have worked many years to achieve. And more importantly, I am in good health.

The brain is an organ that can be taught to react with certain thoughts. For some reason life, t.v., media, general oppinions, are overwhelmingly negative. So, from birth our brain is trained to produce negative thoughts and images. Our brains are highly re-trainable though and with some effort we can set the dials on our brain to produce positive thoughts.Basically I think negative thinking is just a very common bad habit. Alot of my friends will catch themselves saying something negative then visualize something like erasing it from a chalk board and saying something positive or hopeful instead. I have an excersize I do every morning that seems to help me keep on the sunny side. I write a list of ten things I'm grateful for every morning. It can be anything at all even air but it helps start my day. PEACE.

Speaking for myself, yes. Though I am really trying to change that. You are what you are exposed to and unforunately I have always been around negative thinkers, mainly family members. It's all in the mind though, you can retrain yourself to think positive and have a good outlook, it just takes patience and endurance and total self awareness to accomplish it. I do think if you are around like minded people and they think positive the same would be true. You would be a positive thinker.
