That is a very "loaded" question, everyone has their favorite person to play with. I have been playing since MKI and have always liked Subzero. Scorpion is very strong too, if you can get good with him. However, in Armegeddon their is a character that has both of their main strengths, for example Shujinko with the freeze ball and spear. I suggest you just play in the practice, find one you like who has the special moves/technique/weapon you're comfortable with and go from there. Good Luck!

If you wanna smash the other players a*s then choose 1 of the bottom characters.
But if you wanna develop skill, go through all of them and see which one suits you.
Hint= Lui Kang is easy, because his combo's aren't too hard.
