Both. Playing the sport is really fun, but watching the sport and looking at what pros do to help you improve is fun too.

Nothing compares to playing the sport(s) you love! I participate and compete as much as I can. When the time comes that my body isn't up to it anymore, I will then try to appreciate watching just as much.

hmm.. I'll go with watching, because you still see everything and live the moment without running around (especially in hot weather), and getting all sweaty.
