It depends on what style and what emotion you put into it. You could write a poem freestyle or have one that rhymes or even write a haiku. You could write something dark and mysterious or full of love! Try checking out: www.deviantart.com

They have a wonderful poetry section.

Good on you Nicole. Live a poem or die a fool. As an unpublished poet, (by choice - I'm selfish. I write them to express myself to myself,) perhaps you would learn more from one who is. (Sorry, about the split infinitive. Someone on Yahoo Answers is upset with the quality of grammer used here.) First, forget about structure - rhymings, stanzas etc. Unless it just jumps out of you - that's one kind of creativity - write down the words and phrases that paint the picture/emotion you want people to see/feel. Next, put them together like pieces in a jigsaw. Change the order to see the best fits. Unlike other genre, I believe that poetry should never be written for a particular audience - only that it should make a kind of sense to you. Your ideas are the paint, your words are the pictures, your sense of responsibility is the easel, your passion is the canvas - your soul, the model.

Just write down words that describe how you are feeling now.
Don't edit them just make a list.
Set it aside for a while and then start to arrange the feelings in a pattern.
Soon you'll have a personalized poem!

Hi Nicole,

I've tried making a website... But it's been a while since I updated it. It's tough work... plus I'm no good with programming. I know just enough basics of HTML to try.

I would love it if looking at it could help light a bulb in your head. I love writing poetry, and I give it all that I can. You can look thru them by going to http://www.mysticalangel.4t.com
I hope it helps!

Good Luck my friend.

Write one line about something you have ideas about or feel comfortable with. For example, flowers, weather, bullying, homework, feelings, siblings, parents, friendship, etc. After, think as many words that rhyme with the last word you used. Like:

1)Friendship is a precious and sparkling stone

AND then write another line rhyming with the first line.

2)Through which their commitment is greatly shown.

After, your third and other lines will come to you. You can use rhymer.com to find rhyming words. Good luck to you!
