Quite simple really Do you think we evolved from a monkey/ape/dinosaur/mushroom. and for example if we really evolved from monkeys then why are there any monkeys left? did they just one day decide that they had had enough of evolving and stopped!!!?

Very convenient that it allows for branching and only evolving to a certain point? And as for being religeous i haven't been to any sort of religeous function since being baptised as a baby and don't believe in organised religion. But it always funny to see people put so much faith in a scientific community that have yet to prove one of their theories and just feed us bullshit after bullshit lies so that they can justify their paycheques. Oh and finally i have done quite a bit of research as i actually studied it at University for three years, but i guess i'm just not as gullible as some people seem to be!!!

The theory is just that - a theory. It has not passed the bar of scientific law, nor has it been discarded due to evidence to the contrary. For many, evolution is their religion. For others, they unscientifically discount evolution BECAUSE of their religion.
For a good opposing view, check out Darwin's Black Box by Dr. Ray Bohlin. This guy is not a religious nut. He is instead a biochemist, and he makes a pretty solid case for his view that evolution is scientifically implausible based on the biochemical evidence to the contrary.
Some of his points have been proven to be shaky, while others have not. Read and decide for yourself.

We didn't actually evolve from monkeys. Monkeys evolved from the same life form that we did but circumstance and environment made them evolve in different ways. A tougher environment forced us to develop skills that other species didn't. For example The lemurs that live in Madagascar also descended from the same life form as us and monkeys but they ended up on an island that didn't have any predators so they had no reason to evolve, however as they had no predators the population boomed so they developed into different types of Lemurs. Some live on the ground, some live in the trees and some live amongst cactuses. Life forms adjust to their conditions and that's how evolution happens.
Just think with all us people using computers in 100 years we will all have really long fingers and square eyes.

There is plenty of evidence that proves this theory and I heard a very interesting theory on a science programme on radio 4 a while back.
It said the reason we developed from Apes is because one group of apes moved near the sea, and the fish oils in the fish they were eating developed their brains over time, whereas the apes who stayed in land didn't have the same development.
This was backed up with plenty of science and evidence, and answers your question around why there are still monkeys left.
As the person at the top said, it sure beats the religious 'explaination'. For us to have evolved from Adam and Eve, we would all be the result of incest and have deformities beyond belief.

That's your opinion. Evolution is fact. Fact trumps opinion. (And it's obvious you don't "believe" evolution because you don't understand it. With such a pitiful knowledge as yours, I might not "get it" either.)
And you "studied" it at university for three years??!!!! You can't POSSIBLY expect us to believe that!!! If you understood it, then you would argue against it USING that knowledge, not throwing up some fallacious straw man argument that sounds like a third graders understanding of evolution! You would KNOW that in evolutionary terms, "evolving" has NOT stopped, in the sense you mean, and you would KNOW that your question about "if we evolved from monkeys then why are there any monkeys left?" is ridiculous in the extreme if you know ANYTHING about evolution. That is not an "example" that proponents of evolutionary theory use, it is an example that people who DON'T know anything about evolution use. So why would you use that to argue against it, if you studied it, and knew better? You studied it? I'm not buying it, and neither is anyone who really knows anything about evolution. Why do feel the need to lie?

Here's why your question is idiotic:
1) We didn't evolve from monkeys but a common ancestor of monkeys and humans.
2) This ancestor doesn't necessarily stop existing because something evolved from it. Anymore, than the original river stops existing, just because another river now flows out of the first river.
3) Evolution never stops. It continues in response to the environment. It works slowly. You would sound just as idiotic if you said that a plant isn't growing because it's not growing now.
Guess what ? It grew before, it's growing now, and it will grow in the future. Why would you presume it's not just because you can't detect the growth with your senses. The growth of plants is like evolution.

I think the theory of evolution is just about the only feesible solution for how we came to be the way we are today.
As for asking "Why are there monkeys left" , they are just the result of a form of survival of the fittest. We did not evolve from monkeys are we know them today, more from a form of primate which then split into 2 groups one of which became humans & the other became the species of monkeys & primates we know today.
There is no time or space here to go into any depth about the theory but it is obvious from the wording of your question that you have never given it any real thought.

I suggest you actually read about evolution before making remarks about it that prove your stupidly.
First, we did NOT evolve FROM monkeys; humans and the great apes are in the same family of species (like lions and house cats are felines.)
Second, we share the same basic DNA with every other living thing on the planet, including mushrooms. And thats a fact, not a theory.
If you don't like it, tough. It doesn't change the facts.

Did you actually do ANY research before posing this question? The Theory of evolution allows for branching, and breeds that do not evolve beyond a certain point.
If you have a better suggestion, I'm sure the scientific community could do with a good laugh...

You couldn't have studied very hard, or you would know that you can't prove theories in science, you can only disprove them. It wasn't monkeys! We shared a common ancestor with the primates several million years ago; there are now many thousands of fossils and a wealth of DNA evidence in support of the theory.

if the english came from germany, why are there still germans?
chimps are still chimps because they stayed in the environment which they evolved in and which suited them and they are still evolving. the chimps today are different, though slightly from the chimps 500,000 years ago. and the chimps south of the congo are different than those north of it because the became isolated from the parent stock. just as humans deviated away from the common ancestor when they found themselves isolated by a changing environment. the bonobos are not radically different from the common chimp because their environment is very similar. humans were stranded in a totally alien environment as the rain forest in east africa gave way to dry scrub and plains. any of them that didn't have the physical or mental apparatus to cope with the change died, those that could cope lived and bred. they coped by having a physical and mental adaption that would allow them to survive better. they eventually became human. its a simple concept with fossil an genetic evidence to back it up.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4201666.stmd
this will show that though similar the chimps today have changed over time.
