Already tried this: rebooting, reinstalling the mouse specific drivers, bought a new ps/2 mouse (wouldn't work), checked the internet forums, etc, e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. At the end I simply formatted and reinstalled Windows XP PRO SP2. Guess what...both mice still not detected....buaaaaaa!!!.... hardware problem probably?? I appreciate in advance your interest and guru-like answers ;-)
