I am sick with a sore throat and a cough(not a bad one), any suggestions on what to take. I tried Sudafed(it was on my approved list) but it made me very shaky and felt really weird on it and I only took 1. Any usggestions would be appreciated. Before I got pregnant, I always took Airborne for a cold, but I d o not know if all the herbs in it are safe

I can offer you advice of what I did when I was sick when I was pregnant..... for a sore throat, gargle with warm salt water at least 3x per day ( I actually still gargle for sore throats to this day and do not take meds for sore throats) and for a cough I would sit in the bathroom for about 15 minutes with the shower turned on to hot. I would sit on the toilet seat and breathe in through the nose and out the mouth. It will get very hot and humid and the air will be very moist, but it works! Do this about twice per day. If in a couple days you still do not feel better, call your doctor and ask if you can take airborne. I cannot see how airborne could be any more harmful than all the meds out there with chemicals in it.
Good luck to you!

Some herbs aren't safe for a developing baby. All Tylenol products are safe. Try something made by Tylenol. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids and get extra rest if you can.

I would contact your OB office and talk to the trauma nurse, they will be able to suggest something. When I was sick and pregnant I only got sudaphed and tylonol given to me as options. You could try hot water with lemon juice and honey for your soar throat. That's what I always use, including while I was pregnant.
