Every time a UK citizen is convicted and jailed abroad campaigns are launched to bring the criminals home to complete their sentence. This is often done on compassionate grounds so that the offender can be near to relations and friends rather than be stuck in a jail at the other side of the world.
Our prisons are full. Why not send the 11,000 foreigners presently in our jails to their home countries to complete their sentences near to their friends and loved ones? What a humanitarian gesture that would be.
