I'm remodeling my bathrooms and want to replace the shower/tub faucet & control. I currently have Delta with pressure balance. If I wanted to change that to a Moen, do I have to change the pressure valve as well or can I use the existing one?

I can't imagine that a Moen element would fit in a Delta control. I'm very sure you will have to replace the unit.

All tub/ shower valves correspond with the manufacturers trim fo the valves. So if you want a moen brand trim you have to have the right moen valve. Different brand trims and valves are manufactured differently for the specific brand and so you have to buy theirs to use theirs. Usually there are ony a few different valves for each brand though. Moen has three main valve models but has alot of different trim styles to fit each particular valve. Same with delta, price phister, american standard, etc. So you may want to look for just a new trim set instead of replacing the whole valve. Especially if it already the newer pressure balancing kind. It will usually be much cheaper. The rough body valves are usually 60% to 90% of the cost of the set. Home improvement stores will usually only sell the valve and trim togeather in a set. So you are better off looking online at the manufacturers website and ordering just th trim direct from them or taking their numbers to a plumbing supply store where they might even have it in stock so you can walk out with it.
