I'm a masculine dude and everything. I'm all for sports and manly behavior, but there is just one thing that bothers me. HIGH-HEELS. They look so damn cool and have that look about them. MALE shoes look so boring, dull, and stupid. I mean there just a flat-footed shoe with nothing unique about them. The high heel has that pointy front-part and that high back end on top of the little stick. Those should be for men. I also love the high-heel boots and wish us guys would could wear them. I would never wear them because they are for woman and thus aren't considered manly. But boy oh boy, would I get me a pair of beautiful zebra-striped high-heels if they were a guy thing. I am just wondering is this cool and ok? I mean, come on! It's only natural that it is when you look at how cool high-heels are. I'd have so many kind of high heels an high-heel boots.

LOL! Wow! I thought I'd get a lot of hate. You guys were understanding, open-minded, and gave cool advice. Glad you know what I kinda meant about shoes. Some of you even suggested I wear them anyway and not give a crap what others think. COOL!!!

I'd never actually have the balls to wear high heels though. I think I need to stick with the guy thing. lol, but I might think about the answer that said INVENT a guy high-heel show. LoL! Now I wonder what that could look like? Now there's an idea. As much as I loved the open-mindedness, I know I can't go around in high-heel shoes. People are so judgmental and would think I am some kind of transvestite, transexual, or crossdresser. It's ok to be gay, but not those other 3 things. No way!

Excellant question, and I agree 100%. Guy's shoes are boring. However I almost broke an ankel the first time I wore heals. There are some shops that cater to guys that like to wear cute shoes. I am a tall guy and have a large foot size 13 US. And it is soo hard for me to find cute shoes, or boots.
Excellant question, and you need some cute tights to go with those boots.

Not see Stiletto heels on guys - yet - but I expect I will. They gotta have the right look to carry it off though. Too top heavy and it'll look stupid. Mind you most men I see around just dont have any sense of style to put together an outfit that could even hope to incorporate heels. Most guys are not trained to dress themselves. However, I do like, and have, the YSL boots in the link below. Blooming expensive, but so nice to wear. I would suggest this is the sensible limit. Am I "rocking" this look, well it just has to look right and co-ordinated. As long as it all flows, then YES, but if its with the usual tee and baggy jeans look then NO

As a woman I understand. I always thought men's shoes looked like Frankenstein shoes, lol. I would say you should wear them if you want. I don't wear heels that often, but boots, yes. Boots and a skirt are a great look.

YES!!! You are SO RIGHT about 'men's footwear' looking boring, strikingly similar and clumpy!! Due to society's 'ideals' most guys relegate themselves to the men's section of the store...The whole of one isle usually, incorporating black, brown and the occasional blue for color, all of which are flat and look strikingly similar to all the other pairs shown!! But the women's section...
Stocked FULL of cool, fun and flashy shoes!! WOW!! But guess what...There's NO REASON NOT TO BUY THEM YOURSELF!!! Women buy men's clothing and shoes ALL THE TIME FOR THEMSELVES!! Why not you too!!
Historically, and FACTUALLY, MEN INVENTED AND ORIGINALLY WORE HIGH HEELS!! This is NOT a joke!! High platform/heeled shoes were originally worn by nobility to prevent their feet from getting muddy on unpaved roads. This was the 1500's or so if I remember right. And men wore shoes with SIGNIFICANT HEELS up to the late 1800's. Look at the portraits of the Founding Fathers of the US. Almost ALL of them wore heels up to about 4"!! (Height is a guess based upon period paintings available on the web for viewing...) Even today there are companies which make cowboy boots with custom heels up to 5.5" high!! And these are made for, AND WORN BY MEN!! And what about the music industry?? Did you see Prince during the Super Bowl half-time show?? 4-5" stilettos!! (Not to mention his female dancers!!! Wow...)
What you wear is STRICTLY LIMITED by your OWN fears and ideals adopted from society's training and experience. Think about this...70 years ago women were labeled as gay for wearing PANTS!! 30 years ago men were labeled gay for wearing EARRINGS. Or even worse, having long hair AND wearing earrings!! In MANY parts of the world today men regularly wear SKIRTS!! They are called other names but the concept is still the same. BUT...In the good ol' USA, if a man wears a SKIRT they must either be Scottish or Gay. (And I don't think many Scot's will take it lightly if you label them gay because of their Kilts!!!) So why can't YOU (or I, or ANY other man for that matter...) wear heels??? Or skirts...hose...(I won't go into bras because those have a specific function for women...)
If you want to wear heels be smart about it. Use them just like women do and coordinate your ensemble. Wear them with CONFIDENCE and the solid knowledge that HISTORY IS BEHIND YOU! And if people have a problem with you doing something that makes you happy and doesn't hurt them, then guess who has the problem...And it's NOT YOU! Walk into your local Payless, buy some heels and WEAR THEM :-) (BTW...Payless' website has a sizing chart that will tell you the conversion from women's sizing to men's sizings...And most payless employees are more concerned about making the sale rather than who the shoes are for. They'll even help if you ask for it!!) I know I have!! Once you've got your sizing right then you can look for moer expensive heels if you'd like but for $$$'s, start inexpensively!!
Happy Heeling!

You should invent a high heeled shoe for guys, they are really good for you leg muscles. I know what you say about men's shoes being boring.
As for being cool and OK, of course it is, who gives a jack what anyone else thinks about your thoughts, I bet there are plenty of guys thinking the same as you.
Have a great great day sweets

I know what you mean. I've tried to wear heels out in public with jeans hoping to hide them a bit, but it doesn't work all that well unfortunately.

Sorry, I don't see it at all. I don't like the look of them much less the thought of wearing them. BTW, the other poster that said they were good for your calf muscles, no, they aren't. There is a medical condition that comes from wearing them in which the calf muscle shrinks and is extremely painful when NOT wearing them.

They're shoes, mate... If you like em, wear em. If people give you grief over them, tell em to sod off, and quit hanging around such uptight people.
