Madras(now its is called "Chennai") is the capital of Tamil Nadu state.Its gateway to South of India.Its coastal city ,famous for Carnatic music and Barata Natyam classical dance.

Mysore - no doubt about it. btw, am not mysorean myself. nor even a kannadiga. but to me, culture is defined by the inhabitants of a city and their behaviour. empty customs and rituals do not a culture make. People of Karnataka and Mysore esp., are a model for the rest of India. The only place in India where I've seen honesty.
