I.E: Ashanti and T.I have released a song based on 'Pac's Life' or whatever. Why do R 'n' B and hip-hop stars continually release songs with 2Pac fronting it? I know he was influential and all that, but surely there's a limit?

The collabos with 'Pac have nothing to do with old music.
The most recent album "Pac's Life" was a tribute to 'Pac as it's the last album from him, period - stated by his mother (Afeni).
Much like Biggie's "Duets", Afeni wanted to involve artists that have either had a great impact from him or music icons that honored him.
The songs were remade (new production) with new creativity to some of the classics.

I don't think its anything to do with his influence. As everyone knows he had tonnes of stuff already recorded when he died so what easier way to have a hit record than play on the feelings of nostalgia for tupac with songs he wrote because a lot of todays American rappers can't think of anything new to bring to the table
