mustve lost his cool..and i guess his career wasnot on the line anymore so he wouldn lose that much if he just knocked him over..but i think mainly because he just felt materazzi deserved it i mean wad can the ref do?it couldn be more humiliating than getting headbutted right smack in the chest by a legend like zidane..guess its just one of those things u do on impulse..

Partly getting a bit anxious and mostly It's just the kind of person he is. He just wont sit around with people mocking people that he values.
Besides, how would it look like if he whinged around to the referee like a little girl...
Imagine the magic of a few cigarettes and he stayed on pitch, it could be a different story for the italians...

that's just like telling a 16 year old, to tell the school principle that someone insulted his mother, when he can just deal with the situation himself. I guess it was the same with Zidane, it all boils down to his manhood.
