Alex James, the play-maker and captain who helped Arsenal to win four league championships and two FA Cups in the 1930s (they won a fifth title in 1938 but he had retired by then).
Ian Wright and Thierry Henry are wonderful players, but James was a more complete player in terms of bringing others into the game and dominating the midfield. Sometimes Henry blows hot and cold but Alex James was very consistent.
He had the ball control and passing skills of Fabregas, assisting the likes of Ted Drake, Cliff Bastin and Joe Hulme in scoring countless goals. What a player! Scoring two goals himself, he also helped Scotland beat England 5-2 at Wembley.
