Can anyone help me, i recently downloaded a file, now i have spyware crawling all over my system.I get constant pop ups and mesage bubbles and unwanted adverts during work.

(1) Get you self a good antivirus or a free one .
(2) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .
(3) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

Try installing the free lavasoft Ad-ware 07 and the AVG anti spyware system or invest on a couple of good antispyware software such as spyware doctor and Xoftspy.

I would recommend downloading adaware from http://www.adaware.com, this is free for personal use spyware checker and removal software. Also visit www.avast.com and download the free for personal use Anti-Virus software. Run indepth scans of them both two or three times in succession (just to be sure) and you should be fine. I have run both at home for 2/3 years and (touch wood) have no problems at all.

Don't download spyware doctor or anything else.. they infect your computer then try to sell you software to fix it. Get a proper antivirus program, update it and it will remove the problem. Also get a pop-up blocker and increase your internet security settings.

Boot into safe mode with networking, download and run Ad-aware(find it at download.com).While still in safe mode, go to ewido.net and run the onlin scan. This should take care of most, if not all the spyware.

If you are running windows make sure you don't use an Admin account when you are online, that will help stop anything being intalled on your system. Set up a seperate Admin account and limit all user accounts.
Stay far away from spywaredoctor.
