You might want to take the bath into a very warm room (such as your living room) because when a baby gets out the bath the cold air can give them a bit of a sniffle. Make sure the water temperature is warm enough and never bath her for longer than five minutes, as warm (especially already lukewarm) can get cold quickly.
Have a towel ready (top tip: wrap a hot water bottle up in the towel so its nice and toastie for your granddaughter) and then dry her straight away. starting with her head (as this is where a baby loses a lot of their heat.
Get her dressed and give her a good feed and she will be well in no time!

I have just got over that exact problem with my 18 month son. I put him in baths in morning, afetrnoon and evening to help him breathe easier, his breathing was better while he was in the bath. I recommend bathing whenever your daughter feels its appropriate, I also found that a few dops of eucalytus or olbas baby oil in the bath were good. Superdrug also stock a vicks vapobath, its about £5 a bottle but really good stuff. When she comes out the bath, wrap her up in a big bath towel and cuddle her on your knee, dress her in the warmest room in the house, i'm 23 and the best thing it to keep her warm and cosy.

During the day? Or evening time, before bed? What difference does it make to her cold? NONE. Unless she has a problem with her immune system in some way then I see no reason why she should not bathe the child as normal.
Why are you having a row? Whose child is she? Who has brought up their eighteen year old to stand on her own two feet? Take a back seat on these decisions. You had your turn with your daughter.

Well, its not cold inside where you bath a baby is it?
I think a baby needs to be bathed before they go to bed. Relaxing time for them and you. But really, the fact that it's cold outside is not a reason for not having a bath!!!

I always bathed my baby in the evening so she would be all warm and cozy and ready for bed. But I think if your daughter wants to bathe her baby during the day I don't see a problem with it. As long as she is not planning on taking the baby out right after her bath there shouldn't be a problem.

As long as she's not bathing the child outside!!! No seriously, if the baby has had a dirty diaper and needs to be bathed, as long as it's in a warm environment there shouldn't be a problem.

Don't be fooled into thinking you have to roast the cold out of the baby - be sure to keep the temperature between 18C and 21C.

Good luck with the little one.

I think the best time to bathe a baby is in the evening
not long before bed time a bath makes them feel sleepy
just make sure the room is nice and warm

The outside temperature has no bearing on the bath situation. If the bathroom is warm and the water temperature is correct for a baby, then it will only do her good.
Health visitors often recommend taking a baby into a steamy room to clear their congested nasal passages when they have a cold. They certainly don't say you must only do this when it's lovely and hot outside, too!

Hi there, i have a eight month old little girl and Ive always thought it best to bath her in the evening, not only because it is cold and damp outside but i find it helps her to settle at night, I hope you find this helpful, good-luck.x

I would suggest that the baby is bathed at night time, if your daughter was to use a baby bath like johnsons night time bath the lavender in it helps to soothe and comfort baby. Once baby has been bathed make sure that she is dried well and then dressed quickly before wrapping her in a blanket ready for her feed.
