I'm always going back and forth between Vertigo and Shadow of a Doubt---
Of the two, Vertigo is the masterpiece of film-making, a nightmarish journey into love, death and obsession, with bravura performances by James Stewart and Kim Novak, and an ending that will leave you breathless--
Shadow of a Doubt was Hitch's favorite movie, set in the quiet little town of Santa Rosa, California, and how the visit of a favorite and well-loved relative changes a girl's life and her understanding of life forever--Hitch used to say that this film "puts murder back in the home, where it belongs..."

Hitchcock is a master of suspense. My gold movie from him has to be Psycho and colour would be gory anyway. Silver in 2nd place has to be the birds because it chills you up and down with those crows flying about. Bronze 3rd place has to be...Vertigo.

"The Trouble With Harry" is my favorite Hitchcock movie. It's not suspensful like his more popular movies but it is seriously one of the funniest and most entertaining movies I have ever seen!

Most all of them! I'm very fond of Strangers on a Train, Vertigo,North by Northwest, Psycho, Marnie, and The Birds. I'd have to say his best is Psycho simply because it is the most influential of all of his films. By the way, ignore the effing remake.

I like Dial M for Murder...I think it is just amazing how he managed to create such an engaging plot and action within four walls! A good teaching for all so called film makers who rely completely on special effects

Rear Window. It's the most fascinating and the simplest of his works, a masterpiece of economy. And it has the best Grace Kelly of all times
