I entirely agree with your sentiments. Sadly, however, as this site demonstrates over and over again, that there are no end of New Labour aploogists out there. They are full of predjudices (politics of envy), but are never able to provide a sensible backup argument as to why they hold those views.

I can understand it with younger people, because they will have been indoctrinated by their left wing teachers and the TV media. As far as older people are concerned, well? Except, by expanding the public sector, the benefits culture, increased immigration etc, the Government is buying votes.

There are university elitists and unionists who beg to differ. As well as business people who know all too well agree with the government or go along with the "left" and you get less hassle from the unions as well as profit from government contracts.

The government may change, but you have all those public servants entrenched.
