Leg cramps at night can be due to several reasons. One is due to poor blood circulation causing blood to pool in the legs (especially if you do a lot of standing in the day time). If you have varicose veins on your legs, this may be a likely cause. You may want to lift your leg higher than the level of your heart when you sleep (put some pillows below your leg). Massaging your leg in an upward direction regularly may also help. Altenatively you can get supplements like Daflon to strenghten your veins and prevent blood pooling.

Another reason could be due to lack of calcium and magnesium. You may want to take some supplements. You should see results in a few weeks if thats the actual cause.

If nothing else works, you should consult your doctor mate.

You have a magnesium deficiency that is easily remedied.
At a drug store you can purchase liquid magnesium citrate that is used for constipation. Take 1-2 tablespoons of this liquid daily. In a few days you should see improvement in your leg cramps. Calcium causes the muscles to contract. Magnesium causes the muscles to relax.
