Not false paid politeness with plastic smiles, or stiff introverted politeness hiding repressed indifference, but genuine caring politeness built on respect for the rights of others to be, to live, to be different and to have their own culture. Where in the world is the culture 'You First' instead of 'Me First'?

That all went in the sixties! Now it's generally "Me first, because you don't matter in the least".

Where I live in the world,it is very rude and inconsiderate which is why I don't go out much! Rude shoppers, rude drivers, rude public servants, rude people whose job it is NOT to be rude, and it's not limited to any one group. On that rare occasion when someone holds a door or gives me a break,it is usually an older person. People are not teaching their children to consider the feelings of others. You are rare in that you not only notice this but it actually bothers you! That promises some hope.

Politeness travels in circles. What is polite in one circle may be rude in another. And sometimes it's not even a question of being polite, is it? "You first" instead of "Me first" could evolve into something less desirable for one of more individuals in society.
(Comedy's have been made using "You first" depicting societies where nothing gets accomplished because politeness is god.)

Kindness however is universal. Kindness is not weak. Kindness is also not always polite.

As a world we're becoming too comercialised and self-centered. I'm surprised they are still a few decent people left. And is there such thing as an honest politician?

Well I try to be as polite as I possibly can be my dear sir. But whether or not I make a favourable impression is up to others, not myself. Have a good day.
