The paper is white. The printer created very small red dots combined the white surrounding the dots looks pink from a distance. Try printing different colors on white and colored papers (try blue, red, yellow, black paper) and compare.
Also look at a color picture in a newspaper or magazine under a magnifying glass or microscope. It is made up of dots of only 3-4 colors.

Simplified answer: it prints fewer dots of red so the white of the page mixes with the red. Print out some pink and look at it under a magnifying glass.
The slightly more complicated answer is that the printer can only print cyan, magenta, yellow and black dots. Magenta is *really* pink to start with, but for a slightly redder pink it adds some yellow dots into the mix.

Printers will normally have 3 colours and then black. The colours are Magenta(purple), Cyan(light blue) and Yellow. To get pink it would probably be Magenta and Yellow although it mixes all colour to get the right shade. I don't make printers so not 100% sure but it's a start to your answers. Hope it helps lol

Colour printing uses cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks. To get pink, a mix of magenta and yellow are used. The lighter the pink, the smaller the proportion of the magenta/yellow mix is used against the white of the paper.
For instance for a medium pink, 50% magenta 27% yellow is used as opposed to a lighter pink with 27% magenta and 12% yellow.

Printers use the CMYK colour model (Cyan, magenta, yellow, and key < also known as black!).
The colour pink comes mainly from the magenta - by adding yellow , black and cyan you can create various shades / tones of pink.
The following mix diagram may make this a little clearer:

printer use 4 primary printing colors .CMYK (don't confuse with RGB which is primary color of light)
the pink you see actuary it is Magenta. (closer to pink than red)
you can make the pink by using a bit of Magenta, when it printed on white paper, it will be pink.
try print it with light yellow paper, then it turn bright orange.

When the printer is happy, it prints pink; when it's sad it generally prints blue or black, sometimes brown. I don't mean this explanation to be patronizing - it is the explanation I usually give to my clients...

If he grows as a lot as settle for those with disabilities fairly than pity them, then all of us income. i am hoping the mum and father of the youngsters who meet my son are as prepared to communicate with them as you're!
