Why are you attracted to the opposite sex?

2007-02-05 22:17:52 · answer #1 · answered by shark_315 3 · 3 1

If you can sort out the mechanism of sexual attraction (whether to same or opposite sex) then you will be a long way toward answering your question.

Until then the answer to why some people are attracted to the same sex is as much a mystery as why some people are attracted to the opposite sex. Enjoy what you've got, even if you don't understand it.

What are you asking here? It's the way we're hard-wired (if you're talking about homo- and bisexuals).

If you're talking about straight people who may, on occasion, consider someone of the same gender as attractive, then the answer is a lot more complex:

It could be some envy at how well they look/ how successful they are

It could be just pure appreciation (Aesthetism) for that person's appearance & comportment

It could be borne out of sexual frustration/desperation

they could be intoxicated on something

Or it could just be that they're not as straight as they thought they were or even in denial as to their actual sexual orientation.

A lot of people have same sex attraction because the curiosity inside of them gets the best of them

ACTUALLY.

The fact that I am gay and the fact that I am crooked are completely nonrelated.

It's just one of those things that happens. Personally (i.e., not speaking for all gays), when I hit puberty I just started wanting to kiss boys instead of girls. It's not a choice I made; in fact, I had no idea what the hell was going on.

I still don't, to be honest.

Why do you care what other people do in the privacy of their bedrooms? You may be straight but being a voyeur knows no specific orientation.

its definitely natural. We are not sure of the exact reasons, though it seems likely that the primary predisposing factor is genetic, with possible chemical effects as well.

*shrug*

It is and it harms no one, why do we care why?

Kind thoughts,

I don't know. As far as I know I'm straight, but if i'm watching porn, there better be a penis involved. Otherwise, I'm not watching.

It is natural to go through a homo erotic phase in your life. And if you don't grow out of it then you are GLBT.
