Global Warming is not due to human contribution of Carbon Dioxide
By Timothy Ball
Global Warming, as we think we know it, doesn't exist. And I am not the only one trying to make people open up their eyes and see the truth. But few listen, despite the fact that I was the first Canadian Ph.D. in Climatology and I have an extensive background in climatology, especially the reconstruction of past climates and the impact of climate change on human history and the human condition. Few listen, even though I have a Ph.D, (Doctor of Science) from the University of London, England and was a climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg. For some reason (actually for many), the World is not listening. Here is why.
What would happen if tomorrow we were told that, after all, the Earth is flat? It would probably be the most important piece of news in the media and would generate a lot of debate. ..

well Trevor - I'm not sure you are able to read...maybe you have a Ph.D in Climatology or is it just a thermometer?
I do not have a degree in Climatology, but I did study Meterology.
I'm alo not a blind follower (inference is that you are sir). I want to know, hear and see all the evidence and all the facts. I posted this to get an articulate response, so try holding your tongue until you have one.
Does anyone have any specific evidence, article or web site that adds a level of knowledge to this debate?

You may have a number of degrees, but I don't believe you need a Ph.D to admit that man has polluted, destroyed and will continue to be destructive to the earth. I am not a scientist, nor do I have a Ph.D, but as a human being I do know that it is us "man" that is contributing to the destruction of our planet.
Mother Nature, nor the earth have contributed to the destruction of the rain forest, the pollution our waterways, the disappearance of animal habitats and the animals themselves, it us, man.
What I can not understand is why so many people are opposed to keeping the earth clean, less land fills, cleaner water?
Whether or not I believe in Global Warming is irrelevant. What I do know is that I think the earth has given us a lot and will continue to give to man until we destroy it. You have had your chance to enjoy living here on earth, why ruin it for the next generation?
Oh, yeah, your selfish, you don't care, you figure it doesn't affect me, so why should I worry, and you get paid for your opinion.
I just don't understand why you are afraid to err on the side of caution? So we recycle, reuse, keep our water and air cleaner, we make the earth a greener place to live. What is so wrong with that?

"I guess the guy is unable to read a thermometer as that's all you need to see that global warming is for real".

The ignorance of that statement. Many pro global warming people don't even understand the basic concept of what they are suppose to be believing in. Assuming that the earth has warmed up 1 degree over the past 100 years, you are not going to tell much by looking at a thermometer. And that still says nothing about it being caused by human activity, which is the point of the Kyoto treaty, etc.

People get caught up in the hype. Everytime there is a heatwave or a hurricane, its "proof" of man caused global warming. The media stirs it up for ratings and the politicians stir it up for votes. Meanwhile 2007 is starting out with major cold snaps. Coldest since at least 1993. They had to rescue Sea Turtles in southern Texas because the water temperature dropped to unusually low levels and stunned the turtles into a coma like state. Locals said they had never seen that happen. Snowflakes falling in Orlando, Phoenix, Tucson and the Los Angeles areas. What happens if 2007 ends up much cooler than normal?

Just because Al Gore, the U.N. and France say something is true, does not make it so. Over 17,000 American scientists have signed the "Global Warming Petition Project"

They don't agree with Al Gore, the U.N., etc.

By the way, Dr. Ball's article is excellent.

Your opinions will never change my mind. Facts might, but you fall short in the article. Way short. As for these "Degrees" Bob has earned, far as I'm concerned he can place those degrees on a thermometer, grease it up and sit and spin to check HIS temperature! You can't seriously think that all the pollutants we shove into the atmosphere is a GOOD thing, can you? Global warming or not, most people are more inclined to believe that pollutants pollute, and alternatives must be studied and put into place at some point. The sooner the better for future generations. . .

Though I have no Ph.D. to make myself sound credible, I too have been arguing the global warming fact for some time. The fact of the matter is that people like to believe that they matter in the world. They like to believe that they have the power to destroy and/or save the world they live on, when the truth is they are only biding there time here.
Thank you for writing this, maybe someone will be able to see the truth through the fog everyone seems to have instilled around themselves.

it is the situation that is forming that is in flux- the world is making money off of adversity and we here in Illinois plow snow ~no snow ~three machines~three trailers~three snow plow trucks have to be sold to deal with the losses over the last eight years the climate may be hoax to where nothing is changing but where life has financial aspects of being a welder & builder of plows and repairs to them we are out of snow here so that is the message we get

what i think is funny is people go nuts about the so-called "facts" of the earth getting hotter when the measured rise in temperature since the late 19th century is LESS than the percentage of error in actually calculating the earth's temperature o.0

Global warming generates a lot of hot air as you have just proved. Did you have a question or was this just a rant?

You are right. GW is a myth. People won't even listen to a real expert providing evidence. Amazing isn't it?
