What do women have against dating or respecting short men? Why are we ridiculed? It's discrimination.

If women want dominant figures, why did feminism originate? I just don't get why women WANT men to be dominant in some aspects and not others.

I don't disrespect or ridicule short men. Most women are fairly short, so there should be plenty of women who will date you. I am tall, so I choose tall men. And The Dude is right, "discrimination" is a little ridiculous.

Obviously not all women have a problem with short men, especially if they have great personalities and are otherwise not too bad looking. Many women PREFER taller men usually because it makes them feel smaller, more fragile, and protected.

I have nothing against men who are shorter than me and I do respect them. The height of people I date is my personal preference.

"Shorter men." Definition: Men that are shorter then me.
Most women do not like men shorter then themselves. Not short men in general.
I think it stems back to dominance. Historically, the male is supposed to be the dominant figure in a relationship. Somehow, being taller then a woman portrays a dominant characteristic.
Edit: WE ARE STILL ANIMALS! There are some characteristics of our lifestyles that are unexplainable. Why do we feel the need to mate or make friends? Some of the answers just come down to genes and science.

I can only speak for myself. I have nothing against dating a short man. The shortest one I have dated was 5'4". It's all about how he treats you.

I have nothing against short men -- the bias comes from conditoning -- society says that the man should be taller than the woman

I don't disrespect short men, though having said that, I prefer my man to be taller than me...(which isn't hard cuz i'm not tall) But, if the right guy came along I wouldn't not go out with him because he was short... :-)

My husband is shorter than me, he's 5'6" & i'm 5'8" I love him to death too! I wouldn't have it any other way! :o)
