I have noticed this pattern - single men in the military, no matter what their age - are always ready to get married. Why?

The sad part about this is the wife's let themselves
get fat and unkempt.
And after fighting a war that's what they come back to.

They in my opinion, feel that they are "MEN" now and responsible enough for the commitment; this is often a false sense of responsibility/adulthood. It could also if this was a time of more severe wars (WW1, WW2, Vietnam, etc) where death was a greater possibility, be caused by the desire to experience more before the clock strikes twelve... I might have just over-analyzed your question though.
Edit: To the person that said the Military forces you to grow up faster than the average civillian, you're wrong. Speaking from personal experience, I can tell you that there are PLENTY of servicemembers that didn't grow up. Now-a-days, you can get through boot camp and the military and still turn-out as scum. The military definately helps, but some people are just beyond help.

well we are military and the best answer to this is Money. When you are married in the military you get more money then being single. Mostly when deploying. I am not saying that is how it is for all, my hubby and i have been together for 9 years. But most that we know do it for the money.

Let's see...I think the main reason, if not for love, is for the extra money. Also, it is his ticket out of the barracks. Being married in the military just makes life easier.
My husband is in the Army and we married young, but not for the money...but because we truly want to spend the rest of our lives together.
And you know what I noticed...my husband works with good looking men who have really unattractive wives. This way, they get extra money to "support the wife," screw around on her with countless women, and when she finds out, she will never leave him because she's so unattractive. Sad, yes, but so true.

Because they afre forced to gorw up faster in the millitary. They are faced with a lot of discipline. The average guy isn't ready til about 25. Military men really have to grow up fast. That's why they are ready sooner for marriage.

I TOTALLY AGREE.. MY SON IS ENROLLED WITH THE MARINES HE IS 18 AND HE WANTS SO MUCH TO GET MARRIED.. AND HAVE A BABY I THINK IS THAT THEY ARE AFRAID OF IF SOMETHING HAPPENDS TO THEM OUTTHERE THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY LEAVE KIDS BEHIND TO CARRY ON THEIR BLOOD, I KNOW THIS BECAUSE MY SON HAS EVEN TOUGHT OF FREEZIN HIS SPERM OR DONATE IT JUST TO HAVE CHILDREN, BEING HE HASN'T FOUND THE RIGTH GIRL TO MARRY AND HE LEAVES ON JUNE FOR TRAINING.

Because they get more money if they are married to "support" their family. My ex-husband married me for this reason then told me he was really gay.
