I support Brazil...was brought up that way. I live here too and I want to buy tickets to the first and lasr game! :-)

I am south african & i cant wait to see brazil play & portugal. I donot support Bafana - they are an embarrasment to SA Soccer , maybe the new coach will knock some sense into them.

ALF GARNETT V1 ( the guy below my question) - South Africa may be recognised as a 3rd world country but it really is not. We have the same facilities & technology like the UK. There are poor areas that may not have facilities but then again all countries have poor areas. South Africa has fantastic shoping malls, resturants, nightlife , & the scenery is great. as far as crime goes - if you stick to the tourist areas you will be safe & bcoz of the world cup there will be lots of extra security. I think the world thinks SA is a land of wildlife with monkeys & lions running around , Lol we not we are as clued up as any 1st world country.

Whilst I think it is entirely just and right that an African country should be hosting a World Cup after all these years, I think many in Europe at least are very worried about your levels of violent crime. Don't get me wrong I don't want to be judgemental, I fully understand the socio and economic problems your new democracy has faced, and hopefully your government can do something about it by then. Of course you did host the rugby World Cup in 1995 without any problems. As for who I'd like...England. Who will...Brazil.

You should post this question in the FIFA World Cup 2006 section to get a proper response. As one person says I do not think many Europeans will travel to SA because of the crime but also because of distance and 3rd World facilities.

the plan is to be at ellis park, absa stadium, loftus versfeld, nelson mandela stadium, vodacom stadium etc......
already got family there and the place is all ready for the event. so now just need to work my *** off for the money to get there. im half way there so i got time. im an ENGLAND fan through and through. but i do love my socceroos. italy wont rob us this time.
