I stayed in Oxford for a couple of months last year at a backpackers place. Cost me 80 pounds per week, but I heard from my room mates that you can find cheaper housing if you share with other people.
As for transport I cycle as oxford is a very bicycle friendly place and that saves me $$, cost me 100 pounds per month to rent a good bicycle.
Food wise its definitely much cheaper to cook rather than eat out, so my grocery usually spends about 60 pounds per month.
Its is an expensive place to live in but I like oxford so I think its worth going, cheers

Very high. Property prices in Oxford are approaching those in London.
