We want to visit Provence at the beginning of April. Will the weather be nice? Also - should we fly into Marseille? And what towns do you recommend visiting? And should we rent a car or are the trains good? Any hotel recommendations?

That's all for now:)

April is the "mois des fous" in provence, means the weather could be wonderful one day and very bad the day after... Bring all kinds of clothes.
Yes you can fly to Marseille ou Nice.
you can visit : Marseille,Cassis, Aix en Provence, Avignon, Nimes, Arles and the Camargue area...
Saint Tropez and area, Nice, saint paul de Vence, Grasses, Monaco, Antibes...

Better rent a car if you move a lot

Enjoy Provence

Provence can be visited all year round. It's always sunny (almost). April is usually mild, perhaps a bit chilly at night though.

The only big airport in Provence is Marseilles. I don't know where you will come from. It's a good situation anyway.

You should visit :
- Marseilles
- Cassis
- Aix en Provence
- Les Baux de Provence
- Avignon
- the Lubéron area (Gordes, Roussillon,...)

Forget about the train for that part of France, take a car.

Enjoy your trip :-)

The weather should be good in April. It is easier to see the area in a car

It could be a little rainy at times. But you will have the place to yourself! No hoards of tourists....
