It depends on how the person who´s flattering you intends it. If their attraction to you is just about lust, then yes..flattery will be a mild form of seduction...but if they do genuinely like you, then thier flattery is just innocent flirtation, and their only intent would be to say something cute and silly at the same time in the hope to get you to smile, nothing more.

It depends on the circumstances.
I think many people use flattery as a sort of brown-nosey kind of sucking up. And I HATE IT!
others, use flattery as a first , low level seduction......These makes me think of cheesy come-on lines.

It is certainly a part of it.
You use flattery to get into someones good grace - or to open up a dialogue (you have pretty eyes etc.)
So, that would be a definate yes.

It can be. You have to be careful when flattering people. People who are shy tend to over exaggerate compliments and think people mean something they probably dont.
