The Mayan calendar ending means nothing. If they could foresee the future, why did they allow the Spaniards to wipe them out. I have a calendar at home from Barnes & Noble that ends in Feb 2008. Does that mean the world will end then ??? By the way, how do expect the poles to shift that quickly ???

A pole shift can take up to 100 years to complete. During that time solar radiation increases significantly. Not sure if its enough to kill all planetary life (we've had numerous pole shifts) but it could give you a heck of a sunburn.
The only way we can end all life on earth is if we keep electing republican presidents. One will eventually push the button.

Maybe the guy who had to write the Mayan Calender just got a had crap after making calanders for the next 1500 years, and decied he would add more when we got there.
I mean, the calender had to end sometime, surly the mayan calender can't last forever.

The Mayans never said it would be the end of the world, just the end of the current cycle.
