When Shilpa was invited to be a contestant on "big brother"she accepted. She was racially abused by another contestant. Now Shilpa is a famous indian actress and the public in India were incensed at her treatment,The culprit who abused(Shilpa)was soon sent packing.Surprise, surprise the british public voted Shilpa the winner.
It was a load of rubbish, may'be she would have won anyway. But when politics come into game shows it's unfair to all the other participants

Shilpa is a Bollywood actress (From India) who was recently on a Celebrity version of Big Brother in the UK.

There were comments made by some of the British celebrities in the house that were interpretted as racist in regards to Shilpa. They also were seen to be bullying her.

The story hit all of the front headlines in the UK and India - and threatened to create a political rift between our two nations. The incident was actually discussed in Parliment!!! Believe it or not.

It was taken very seriously, one of the British celebrity's managers has died of a heart-attack since the show (she feels it's due to the upheaval caused). And all three of the British celebrities have had numerous death threats and hate thrown at them. They are mostly in hiding with their families now.

Not sure of the exact origin, but colonists, particularly New Englanders, were known by the British s "Yankees." "Yanks" is short for "Yankees." Southerners call all Americans from places other than the Deep South "Yankees." Many people in foreign countries call all Americans "Yankees." Strictly speaking "Yankees" are only those from New England. British have abbreviated the broad term to "Yanks." Oh, yeah. There's that baseball team.

To add to the first post, Jade said "she can't speak f###ing English." The Prime Minister of India filed an official protest with the ambassador of the UK, you would think he had more important worries. Eventually the Bollywood star was voted as the winner. The end.

Simple the brits on the show mistreated her because she was Indian and said quite a few racial slurs.

I'm glad she won.
