Manga are the Japanese books.
Anime are the Japanese cartoons on TV.

When it comes to drawing it really dosn't matter which one you call it. Manga maybe a more accurate term, as you are drawing an image not animation.

Only the some past shows and more recent ones like Busou Renkin, Death Note, and D Gray Man are similar to their manga counterpart. But most series in manga form can swerve different from the anime. It can either be a difference on the plot or the characters. like for instance, for the manga version of Full Metal Alchemist. They dont show the many additional stories that happen in the anime. It just skips right into the plot of things. And some characters from the anime never appear in the manga either. This kind of thing varies with other series. Sometimes up to the point in which there are debates on which version would be better.

Manga is the Japanese equivalant of an american comic book and an Anime is usually the animated version of a Manga, it's just like when a comic goes and becomes a cartoon series (kinda like X-Men, etc.).

In most cases a Manga is first published and when it becomes very popular it will be turned into and animated series, then referred to as an Anime. Usually the Anime will have some minimal differences from the Manga story line.

Well, manga is like a comic book and anime is like an animtaed tv sitcom.

Most of the times, manga is converted to anime, as you will see, its the same case with most anime series like inuyasha, samurai x, naruto, fruit basket, card captor sakura, yu yu hakusho, etc,.

In almost all the cases, the manga is more complete than teh anime!

it's different. manga is a comic strip and anime is a film. Usually the writer nake the manga and published it first, and if i's good enough they will make the manga into a film that we called anime.
Sometimes they make the story a little bit different, but the basic are same.
i'm sorry if my english is bad, but i hope you could understand what i mean.
