The Nature/Nurture or Genetics/Environment proportion was traditionally considered to be 50/50. Now, medical science is pretty sure it's at LEAST 80/20, genetics/environment.

i believe that genetics play a big role on how an individuals behavior and personality develop, but I also believe that the environment in which one grows up is a major factor as well

Very little. Behaviorism is a field in psychology, and the common belief is that nurture has a greater affect than nature on an individuals behavior. Nature would be genetics, and nurture would be the environment that affects someone growing up, culture, urban/rural, climate etc.
