the answer is clear
just see read and decide yourself
minimum broadband charges of BSNL is Rs250/= (excluding Service Tax)
in which u get 1 gb traffic free. mean traffic which include both downloaded and uploaded content. many mess up that downloading is just downloading a software or anythin else.. but answer is even a single bit is counted of browsing, chatting etc.
and bsnl provides speed upto 2Mbps (b is small letters means 2 Megabits per second no Bytes,) so the actual speed u will get is between 200 to 400 KBPS it means kilobytes. and broadband also let u connect imidiately. now compare dial up with it.. in dialup plan u have to pay call charges why because u are dailing a number of bsnl ISP. second they charge on per KB or per MB .
if u surf for one hour and call charges are rs1.2 per 3 minute than it will be Rs 24 for an hour and traffic charges etc(download + upload) second weak point u will be getting speed of 56Kbps again here the speed is in kilobits not bytes. so actuall speed will be around 2 to 5 KiloBytes per second. and many times u will be ending up dialing waste call (My personal experience) beacue some time server refuses to connect sometimes teh speed is so worst that you have to reconnect and dont forget you have to pay for it.
so its better to go for broadband RS 250 plan.. even if u just check mail per day.
because in cyber cafe you have to pay anything between 5 to 10 rupees per hour and if u do everyday it means it will be around RS 150 to 300.
so better go for BSNL dataone home 250 plan.

I finally got broadband, and I'll never have dial up again!

it is blinding fast and doesn't tie your phone line up.

The only drawback is, with dial up you get a different isp number every time you connect. With a "static" line such as broadband, you have the same isp number, which makes you more vulnerable to attack, unless you know the timing to "reset" the modem so you can get a new isp id# (like every 2 weeks more or less). Of course you could get anti- virus software pretty reasonable too and avoid most of this stuff. JUst thinking out loud.

My bb is only $30 /month. Last I knew, dial up was $21.99. That's a deal in anyone's book for the speed!

A broadband connection is far better and faster than a dialup.
Broadband can be availed from your local internet cable provider, where the speed is not so fast as the banswidth is shared by multiple users. You also have the choice of opting for ADSL broadband provided by MTNL and BSNL which is by far the best.ADSL is used through your telephone lines, though it does not keep your telephone line busy while you are on the internet.
The dial up internet is again through the telephone line with a slower connection speed and also your line is busy while you are on your dial up connection.

If speed is what you want go with Broadband. If you want economy you can go with Dail Up.

Broadband speeds starts at 256 Kbps where as the speed can go as high as 2 Mbps.

Where as Dial up can only support max 56 Kbps.

But remember most Broadband packages are charged on the amount of data downloaded. So more you download more you have to pay.

If you already have a BSNL phone and want quick internet which you would use only to check mails then go with dialup.

You need not even subscribe. Just get a modem connect ur existing phone line to the modem, Add a new Dial Up Connection in your Network Connection and use 172233 for the phone number and "netone" for user name and password.

Remember to remove Wait for dial tone before dailing check mark in control panel modem properties.

If you still need further clarifications please get back to me.

Having had experience with both cable and ADSL I would have to say get cable.

ADSL, which comes through the phone line, is a decent technology and will provide you with a reasonable connection. It has a higher contention ratio than cable broadband - meaning you share with more people, so it can sometimes give reduced bandwidth during peak times.

Broadband doesn't suffer from peak usage problems, al least in my experience. Faster and more reliable connection speeds are also possible.

Another thing to consider is price and download limits. If your only checking emails a couple of times aa day then either will do just fine. If your big on downloading, streaming content, online gaming - then go for cable especially if your mainly using during peak hours, 5pm - 9pm.

For anyone using net for more than an hour per day, broadband is a better option. It provides better conectivity and speed than most other dial-ups. But if you download a lot of stuff then make sure that you choose a broadband with no download limit, like that of airtel.

Broadband is in, dial up is dead.
BSNL is the best choice.
Recently BSNl has increased its speed to 2 MBps and 250 Rs plan provides 1 GB of data download and Rs 500 plan 2 GB of data download.
Average file download speed which I am getting is between 100 to 650 kbps, which is many times more than Bharti or sifi.

Broadband have more advantage than dial up.
It is depends on which part of India you belong and what types of broadband are available to you.
Broad will give you fast surfing of Internet with P4. Downloading speed will more. Let says you want to download file of 2 MB. In dial up it will take 8 to 10 minutes as the Internet connection speed will not go more than 40K to 45K. In broad it will take maximum 3 minutes if you have 128K connection.

For the home pc dial up connection is less expensive than broandband, but broandband is faster than dialup. In my point of view dialup connection should be prefered.

It all depends on what you use your computer for on a daily basis. If you don't use it for anything more pet websites, or e-mail, search eninges, then dial-up is best, but if you want Windows Media to work in which is was "desgned to wrk" (which I use loosley), the choose broadband.

Really dial-up for me is not really a problem, becaue i do not have any software on this computer not do I do I use the internet that requires me to use broadband at all, when dial-up suits my needs just fine.
