Most travel agents will book it as a package with someone like Airtours, Thomson, JMC etc but you can often find that if you find an agent who books accomodation only and flight sep then you can get it cheaper.

we went there last year, we booked with Thomson in one of their high street shops, the holiday, hotel and trips were brill, but the flight was terrible, we were told it was a 10 hour flight, but because Thomson were so disorganised it took 13 hours! and then they have since refused to even answer letters and emails.
when we were there we met a lady that booked direct at the hotel for her family that came out next week, I believe that was cheap, try phoning if you have a hotel in mind. if not, type cancun into your search engine and brows the info

Thomson are good and a good hotel to stay in is RIU Cancun all inclusive

My parents have recently been to Mexico and they have said that it was great.
To find the best prices they used the Yahoo! Travel website, i have attached the link that goes directly to the overview about Cancun.

book it over the Internet Ive did it the last few years and saved a fortune!!!!!! first choice is a good site ... really good service good planes and the hotels were great...
what Ive been doing is finding the names of the hotel (places) and doing a search on tripadvisor loot of people post they holiday thoughts on there..

i too will be going in may!! i used apple vacations, but booked with travel impressions (only a travel agency can book thru travel impressions)... aaa travel agency helped me
