If your parents let you get a marriage in vegas when you were 16 by signing you over, and then you get older and change, and want to leave.... should you be responsible for the marriage or your parents. sorry to sound so confusing.

Don't listen to all those mean comments Mean jealous girls suck. Also if a 16 year old is not legally mature enough to have sex and is considered rape of a child, than it shouldn't be allowed at that age to marry either. All the other answers sicken me. 16 year old brains are not fully developed and they are still children. You are probably very pretty and it makes guys mad that you are off limits, and girls angry they cant be like you. Make an ugly avatar and get real answers. your parents are wrong and who would let their daughter get married at that age, i wouldn't.

No.

To the best of my understanding, once a kid is married she/he is "emancipated" from her/his parents and free to do what she/he wants to do.

I am assuming the parents may have signed to give permission for the marriage. I'm assuming they didn't sign something that gave custody of their minor child to the husband.

Whatever the details of the "signing over" were, no, it isn't right; but if the kid was acting up to the point where she was unbearable , and if she was demanding the right to get married, maybe the parents thought it would make her happy if they signed.

Should she be responsible for what her parents signed? Nope.

You still chose to marry the guy even though your parents gaeve you permission to do so so stick it out! They only did what you wanted them to do. Get help and counseling for you and your marriage and why do you want to leave now? You are responsible for your own actions and decisions you make in life so you have to learn to accept this and live your life with your husband and work on your marriage. You need to grow up now! My mom would say you had to have him so deal with it:)

if you decide to get married at 16, you made the transition into adult world by deciding to get married. your parents honored your wishes. so, you are responsible for the marriage not your parents. its your marriage to keep together or let go. you made the commitment and so you should be the adult you wanted to be and accept the responsibility of your actions.

You have to take responsibility for your own life. Yes, parents who let a 16-year-old marry are foolish, but it's ultimately the girl who made the decision. In life, it helps a lot if you learn to take responsibility for your actions and not blame others, even if the others act stupidly.

First of all, I tend to agree getting married at that age is a bad idea. Second, if you are married then technically you are emancipated from your parents, making you responsible. If you haven't finished school, go back and do it now.

No offense, but it sounded/s like at that time, YOU were one less mouth to feed and they didnt care what it took to make sure of that. Any parent who deprives their child of a happy, healthy childhood by ok-ing marriage at that age should be shot. It also sounds like you were probably abused in which case, good riddens you got out and did what you must have thought you had to do at THAT time.

-=my answer is 'NO'=-....Do you like the marriage too?well, i may not be experienced but dear I believe it's not an easy thing to go through..you should be mature enough before you do it...It's sacred...Once you enter it, be sure it's the first and last otherwise it wouldn't be perfect and nice...well for your parents, I think they probably must know how hard it is for you..d:)

am not saying that ur parent is stupid. maybe there's some reason behind that thing. ask your parents. they are the right person in telling about this scenario. good luck!

The parents are stupid and genetics say so is the kid.

I swear there should be a test you have to pass before people can procreate!
