Why aren't illegitimate births outlawed? THIS is what should be outlawed, not gay marriage. 4 out of 10 children born in this country last year were BASTARDS. How sick is that? We need to start weeding out unstable and unfit parents, and we can solve a big part of the problem by reducing illegitimate births- breaking an awful cycle.

And how about just demonstrating some self-control and maturity by not humping around like crazed wildebeasts out of wedlock? I mean damn, even BIRDS are monogomous. Birds do it. People used to do it all the time. So you can too.

And what makes men think they can't demonstrate self control? What makes them so special? It takes two to cooperate.

Why don't we do like Hitler did? Three options: jail, sterilization of the sexes, or execution? How we care for our children (illegitimate or not) is a gauge of what kind of civilized society and country we are. We cannot control the way adults face moral issues. We can't legislate morality, and shouldn't. All of this is due to a breakdown of the moral fiber of our society and times. When someone says "God" they are told to be quiet, even at the risk of losing jobs. When a young lady says "no" when it comes to sex, she's called a prude. When a man refuses to have sex before he's married, he's called "gay". 1 out of every 2 marriages end in divorce. Children are not commodities or to be cast aside and should not be treated in any other way except as who and what they are. They deserve the right to life & a decent, warm & secure household. The solution to the problem lies in each responsible adult.

Your feet are firmly planted in a few decades past!

Some were born because Christian extremist pulled birth control out of the schools!

Many people today do not go the traditional wedding route. That doesn't make them Bastards if the life style has changed so much that marriage is not part out their lifestyle. It just means you are out of touch with reality! Or time has just past you by!

Back in the day where this term was used frequently, there was no 50% divorce rate, and their were no Birth Certificates! Lineage was kept in the front of a Bible!

Bastard is a derogatory term since most of these children have 2 parents listed on their birth certificate. Whether they were married or not is superfluous

And I guessed you never had sex before marriage!

I would agree with you on this except for I have no idea how you would make it a law. Research shows that children from two parent homes are much better adjusted and alot less likely to struggle in life. I am afraid the answer to this is going to be in societies lap as a moral issue. One possible way is to stop giving welfare to single mothers that keep having children, better enforcement of deadbeat fathers, and possibly the best way is for women (I hate to sound sexist here) to be more careful about the men they choose. If women start to choose more responsible men, more men will decide to become responsible. Sorry but men as a whole will not do it unless forced. When I was young, yes it was awhile ago, if you got a girl pregnant, you either married her or took care of the child, or her dad was going to make you history.

Wow--and we go from outlawing abortion to mandatory abortion or steralization? How about we make it harder for people with children to get divorces, and go from there?

You can't legislate this kind of thing. It needs to start at home.
