How do i as an individual warn tourists NOT to visit South Africa.They are 'picked out' at the airport and followed to be raped,beaten up,robbed for a cheap cell phone and and best killed as is the new motto in South Africa.

How do i warn tourists to stay away from South Africa as they are chosen as targets at the airport and then followed to be roped,robbed,beaten up and more than likely left for dead.I survive here in S.A and have been a witness to this new spree of genocide because you move higher up the crime hierarchy the more you kill.STAY AWAY,I URGE YOU

In the last decade crime in South Africa has gone up at a scary rate. Rape alone has gone up 1500%.
Why would anyone want to go to Africa for vacation anyways. It is almost impossible to name one country in Africa where tourists are not somehow in danger.

Interesting...my very white, very blonde, very American friend lived in south Africa for six months and attended the University of Cape Town. She had nothing but positive experiences there, and throughout Africa. The people were very good to her, and she made a number of friends she is still in contact with 5 years later.

That doesn't suprise me at all. I've talked to people who are actually from South Africa and they have told me similar stories. Its not uncommon for people on roads to and from the airports to pretend that they have broken down and when people stop to help them they get robbed and stuff.

Baloney. There are bad and not bad areas for everyone. Smart travellers make themselves look as little as tourists as possible.
There are areas of Florida where tourists get robbed and beaten just as easily.

I don't know how it is outside of Joburg, but as a whitey I certainly felt much safer in Lagos while I lived there than in Joburg, not as much racial tension there.
