like from some sports organization or olympics or something, i need to know if chess is a sport officially, or if it is still a debatable opinion

debatable....but a good activity
ESPN will tell you that everything is a sport these days...spelling bee contests, chess, dog shows, POKER, etc. I've seen just about every hobby in the world on ESPN at some point in time...and they're the "sports" network.

I see more as a mind game then a sport. I enjoy playing it.
But a sport to me has physical action.
