As others have pointed out, children don't become children per se until they're born. Unborn foetuses may well have the opportunity to become children if they're allowed to do so, but I'm sorry to tell you that there's a slanted scale - if you're already here, you have more civil rights than if you aren't, case closed.
What's more, if we were granting civil rights to "potential" children, how far back to we go? Do we prosecute every woman who has her period, for sacrificing the precious egg that had a "chance" of becoming a child? Every man whose sperm goes anywhere else than into a woman's vagina? And , thinking about that one step further, there are millions of "potential children" ejaculated by men on every occasion. Generally only one in those millions ever actually fertilises an egg. Should we demonstrate for the civil rights of unsuccessful sperm to be given another chance?
There are plenty of real issues in the world. The civiil rights of 'unborn children' is not one of them.

Let's give all unborn children civil rights! Screw it if the mother dies because of medical complications screw her civil rights. Screw it if the mother was raped and her civil rights were taken away from her, how dear she have any civil rights! Maybe the unborn children need to get themselves a good lawyer!!!
Now if these unborn children are indeed children then why aren't there more funerals them? Don't they deserve the same type of treatment any other member of the family would have? It's only a child if one doesn't miscarry? or republicans don't have many miscarries!
If republicans want to add more validity to there argument of unborn child then they need to start burying their miscarries seeing as it is a life!

You're almost enough to me wish that every man who gets a woman pregnant and thinks he has more right over her future (and that of their baby) himself be impregnated with a parasite that will grow larger for 9 months and could, in some cases, kill him. Almost. Then sanity, and the remembrance that most men are great people, returns.
Know these two truths: 1) NO woman in her right mind ever *wants* an abortion. It's like a kind of amputation. If a woman decides on an abortion, it is *not* a decision made lightly. And 2) until conservative politicians start paying more attention to the welfare of the children this country already has (cutting Medicaid and Medicare? Are you KIDDING me???) they have very little room to talk about the unborn.

LIBerals want to DENY the CIVIL RIGHTS of unborn children, because they are not even born yet! They have no civil rights if they are not living. And it's the mother's decision on what she should do with HER child. Not anyone else's. Don't agree with aborition? Then don't have one, and get over it.

When are you going to pass the Bill of Rights for Children?
When are you going to start supporting them rather than cut their Medicaid every year!

Why are radical Christian Rights so eager to save embryos of rapists and murderers?
