No, not at all. To a point, America did okay. Then things got sour. When 9/11 occured, almost every country in the world showed symphathy toward the US. There was a worldwide outpour of feeling for the US. When the US invaded Afganistan, nothing major (at leasted according to the media) happened. But then the US invaded Iraq, a huge mistake. First off, what reason did they have to invade Iraq? Saddam Hussien is abusing his people? Um, the US didn't really care years ago when they left him in power after the Gulf war, right? Weapons of Mass Destruction? Right, now everyone knows that was a HUGE LIE. And right under our noses, North Korea finally suceeds in making a nuclear bomb. Wrong country, anyone?

Of course, they say that we went there to establish democracy. Okay, they were sucessful, but now they have the Sunni and Shi'ite people killing each other in a bloody civil war. Thousands are killed every year. Many in Iraq prefered life in Iraq before the US came in. Gee, Saddam mustn't have been so bad. Or maybe we've been TERRIBLE guests.

And now, many countries do not support the US anymore. They think that the US was crazy to invade Iraq, that they are overly hostile, they are hardliners. The US reponds by being arrogant. "Freedom Fries"? Please!!! I know that many outside the US wonder what is going on. Thankfully, many Americans caught on as well, hence the low approval ratings and the Democratic majority in Congress and Senate. Maybe we still have hope.

As a nation, for the most part we came together. I think that initially the world saw the best in us. Yes, I think that response was good. The message got out that we were not going to sit by and wring our hands and debate what should be done next. We were going to do everything in our power to insure that we were not going to allow terrorists to come here and do their dirty work again. We showed strength, resolve and unity.
Wanted to add, that it was a good feeling to see our nation come together, we really were united, which doesn't happen often and seems to have faded again..

Hilarious how you blamed it on Saddam and got away with it in USA-Fortunately the rest of the world is more intelligent than the fat Yanks and knows the truth and how the CIA was partially responsible for 9/11.

Not particularly look at all the suffering still, how much was spent on clean-up and rebuilding of 9/11? how much is being spent on the war in Iraq? its a real downer if you ask me I will give Rudy G credit though he did great for the city, and I think he'd be the best for our country.

Yes, that is one of the very few things Bush did right. We went to Afghanistan with the help and approval of the international community. To bad he didn't stay focused on fighting those terrorists instead of invading Iraq and making so many more terrorists.

Yes, we kicked *** right back. We never should have started rebuilding Iraq thats where we went wrong. We should have "redeplyed" after we defeated the Iraqi army and took Baghdad.
